How to Install Solar Panels
First you need to know what solar panels is and its function. Basic I guess, Always know the fundamentals before proceeding to complicated steps.
Solar panel describes two types of devices – Solar photovoltaic modules and Solar thermal collectors – that collect energy from the sun, a clean and environmentally sound means of collecting solar energy.
Solar photovoltaic modules use solar cells to convert light from the sun into electricity. While Solar thermal collectors use the sun’s energy to heat water or another fluid such as oil or antifreeze.
And since we need sun light, it’s necessary to position your solar panel in direct sunlight – install your panels to rooftops, building tops, or stand-alone facilities so that it gets the most direct sun exposure and you make sure your solar panel is maximally effective year round.
Here are some easy steps how to mount your solar panels:
- Use (PV) mounting systems (Unirac, FastJack, TileTrac are just few to review).
- Align mounts on top of rafters using chalk line or laser sight – to keep the mounts in a straight line – then pre-drill with a pilot bit to avoid splitting the rafters.
- Secure the mounts using stainless steel lag bolts.
- Placed metal flashing over the mounts and while the layer of roofing was hot-mopped.
- Install pre-assembled and hard wired solar panels in groups.
- Applied a layer of reflective roof coating.
- Run the conduit to connect the panels to the inverter.
